Let's say that you are just starting out in the wedding photography business and you already booked your first client? Whether you're a failure at organizing or you are quite the control freak – there are some items that you absolutely cannot do without if you want to succeed as a professional wedding photographer.
Here's a quick list of the items that you need to have.
First, always have two cameras handy. Although some photographers like me consider their DSLR cameras to be their 'babies' – something which they cannot part with – it is important to have a backup in case the main one shuts down. Also, a backup camera is a great way to have two different lenses so that you can capture scenes from two points of view.
Second, a good wedding photographer should have large-capacity flash cards for storage – and a variety of flash units to control the lighting of the pictures that you will take.
Finally, a laptop computer and Internet access are necessary to run your business. Obviously, you cannot view your pictures without a laptop computer. Meanwhile, having Internet access will allow you to get in touch with clients online, post an online gallery which is usually a part of wedding photography packages – and run your own website to ensure that your business is in tip top shape.
