How to Sell Your Services as a Wedding Photographer

I personally don't think that I had enough people skills when I started out as a wedding photographer. But over the years that I have been in business, I'm quite proud to say that I have acquired a keen way of dealing with clients, building a rapport with them and making them see the value of my work enough to make them choose me to capture the most important moments on their wedding day.

So what' my ten cents worth of advice on how new wedding photographers can sell the services that they offer to clients? First, make sure that you are as professional as you can be.Show up early during appointments and get there ahead of your clients. Make sure that you are prepared. Bring along your portfolio with you, or your laptop computer so that you can show to your clients samples of you work.

Build rapport with your clients using humorous anecdotes about previous weddings that you have covered. Dress professionally, make sure to match the meeting place with the image that you want to project for your business, have an outline of what you would say to a client in order to sell your services and present them in a clear and concise manner.

Remember that selling your wedding photography is just like selling any other product: you need to show the clients the benefits that they will have from getting your services, so start brushing up on your sales skills.
